Read this very carefully: For field observation #2: I couldn’t find the assignment on what to do. However, I attached screenshots of a mate’s paper who has done it. DO NOT COPY OR PLAGIARIZE. It’s the same class. Use it as a reference.
Field observation #4: The assignment is attached.
Everything has to be in your own words. You have to observe, no research either.
You cannot use any sort of chatgpt, no plagiarism, the professor has software that picks it up.

EN 349: Literature & the Environment Field Observation #4: A Sand County Almanac (Parts I & II) Directions: You should spend at least 30-45 minutes outside in sustained observation and reflection. Try and select a spot to sit/stand in place to observe the environment around you. While observing, you should take notes (pen and paper or on an electronic device). Then, when you are done making your observation, you should write up your thoughts and reflections. For this week’s field observation, you may choose one of the following prompts: 1. Aldo Leopold’s A Sand County Almanac begins with a set of essays under the heading “Sand County Almanac,” which, like a typical almanac, is divided into twelve segments, one for each month. These essays mostly follow the changes in the ecology on Leopold’s farm in Wisconsin. Imagine that you are writing a similar “almanac” describing and documenting the environment where you are currently residing. Spend at least 30-45 minutes outdoors observing the ecology around you and then write an entry for “September” based on your observations and knowledge of the surrounding area. 2. In A Sand County Almanac, Leopold employs metaphor to compare “the biotic continuum” to a stream. As usual, select a place outdoors to go and observe for at least 30-45 minutes. How do you perceive the biotic continuum of which the place you are observing is a part? Spending some time in close observation of your surroundings, what do you notice about the fertility, stability, balance, and diversity of “the whole biotic landscape”? What metaphors might you employ to describe this landscape? Applying an ecological lens to your observations, what relationships do you see among the various organisms which make up this biotic landscape? Guidelines: Length: a minimum of 2 full pages, typed & double-spaced Submission: Make sure to submit your essay as an attachment (Word document); do not cut and paste the essay into the text box.
